Los Angeles
Cactus and Succulent Society
Meeting in the San Fernando Valley.
Welcome to the website of the
Los Angeles Cactus and Succulent Society.
Our more than  200 members come from throughout the southland and share a passion for cacti and succulents. Throughout the history of LACSS, many of the most prominent researchers, authors, and collectors of the succulent world have been leaders and members of our society.
Zoom meetings continue in 2022
Sadly we have decided to cancel the in-person portion of January 6 meeting due to concerns about the intensity of current corona virus infections and measures needed to prevent infection.  We are still considering options for February meeting.
Doors open at 6:30 for our monthly zoom meetings including the Social Hour, Ask an Expert, and much more. The business meeting starts promptly at 7:00. Attendance is FREE and open to the public.   We hope to see you at a meeting soon!

SPEAKER  BIOGRAPHY
Hunter Martinez is a cactus enthusiast, amateur grower, collector & ceramicist who travels around documenting cactus & succulents both in cultivation as well as their natural environment. During the pandemic, Hunter took his passion for plants out of the greenhouse and into the desert.

He has traveled with Jeremy Spath & Kelly Griffin to Mexico and Guatemala as well as interviewed growers from Woody Minnich of Cactus Data Plants to Ernesto Sandoval of UC Davis. In addition you can find him touring nurseries, traveling, and connecting with other like minded individuals in this ever growing hobby & trade. A perpetual student he loves to share his plants with anyone with a second to spare.
